Alky kit

One question that I was not able to find is " Does the Alky kit trick the ECU for better detonation"? I've heard that alky kits are something to invest in if you are running low octane fuel?!?!

Why would you want "better" detonation? Sounds like you should stay away from performance cars in general.

There is no really a direct wiring to the ECU sort of speak. You manipulate/reprogram the ECU to accept the methanol mixture for an enhance performance.

The goal is to supress detonation not the other way around(you said to better the detonation). You don't want detonation.

I think you should read just a little bit and get the terminology righ first.

Alky is good for making power no doubt. It'll definitely help you with the octane barrier. However, you have to understand the steps necessary to make sure that you don't blow your engine. Get a good tuner, monitor your gauges, be in tune with the way your car feels, get a kit that has a failsafe and also a test button.

This isn't information you need to gather before you even start modding. Alky is like using race fuel - it's not a bandaid for running low octane. I know your premium octane is low, but you will just mod and tune accordingly.
