yea man, its time to switch...my DD is a 95 honda civic..with that as primary and evo on policy i save 1 grand a year than by just having evo alone, and premiums are only 1200 for 6 months...i say only, because i was once paying 400 a month with other ins. companies and i had a 4 point ticket on my licnese...but yea, its time to switch..tell any company you call you are switching from geico, and that alone will insure good rates...they like ot take peoples business

Honestly, you need to just find another insurance company. Geico is the worst. I understand that insurance rates are contingent on many different things such as geography and what not, however, I use to have Geico and getting rid of it was the best decision I ever made.

I was paying $350/month with Geico. One day I got a letter in the mail saying that they were cancelling my policy due to non-payment. I called them and informed them that I did pay my bill on time and that I could see the transaction deducted from my bank account. I was unknowingly driving around for four days without insurance. They apologized for the mix up and reinstated my insurance. As they were doing that they noticed a ticket I had that was pending and not yet fully dealt with. They wanted to raise my rate $750/month. I told them to go to hell. Now, I have Esurance and my rate is $230/month with full coverage just the way I had with Geico. I have only heard good things with Esurance although I don't know how easy it will be to deal with them in the event that a claim needs to be made due to the fact that it is an internet based company. Either way, it couldn't be worse than Geico.

Thanks, folks! I just switched to esurance per the recommendation of one of you guys. For three new cars (full coverage) I now pay $1455 - with comparable coverage - every six months. I just saved $80 per month on my car insurance by switching FROM Geico.

I'm now going to drive the Evo. It's been in "storage" way too long....

You just need to switch insurance companies plain and simple. It boggles my mind to see that people still use geico when they are one of the most expensive out there. Whatever you do, do not use esurance. They are hardly an insurance company. You might pay cheaper rates but you'll never get your car fixed if you get into an accident. That company is a joke. I used to pay $289 for Geico back in the day and then they wanted to raise it to $315 a month. I switch to State Farm with much much much better coverage and I even having towing and rental insurance too and my rate was $189 a month and it it just went down a month ago to $165 and I do not have a clean record. Stick with the good companies like State Farm, Allstate, Farmers, American Family, etc. Geico and ensurance are scams.

I had Geico for a number of years. They are a great insurance company. They just cost too much. My former wife totaled our brand new Honda Odyssey three years ago. Geico handled it wonderfully - quick, no hassles, friendly... But if I can save $400 every six months for comparable coverage, I'm on it.

It's difficult to fit a car seat in the back of a Viper
