What we think depends on your goals for your car, your experience with the car at the power level of the GT35, and your expectations for the 40.

However, if it's anything more than a "hae lets take the Evo to the track this weekend" car, it's probably impractical and a moderate waste of funds.

Well I decided I want to be at a 700 whp level, and I think the gt35r will not cut it.

Why the "700hp">>??
do you just want to have a dyno queen?
Im not trying to be a dick, im just wondering?
Are you looking to make big numbers or do you want a car that can run a fast 1/4 mile?
if so, what is your goal in the 1/4mile?
whatever you choose, good luck! its going to be lots of fun!

Yeah, you will need alot of money for a 8 second car. Not just for the build but to maintain a 8 second car.

If you want around 700whp, why not just get a 37R...seems like an great turbo from what I've read! But i dont think you'll hit 8's with it..

If you want to go 8's, you definitely need the 40R. Good luck with your goal. You will be testing the outer limit of the EVO drive train.

Funny..funny I will tell you the same thing I told a few other people who have posted such things. The people who do these build just do them. They don't post on message boards about what they should get etc etc they call a premier shop drop the coin or build the car themselves.

To run 8's your car will no longer be a street car. Major weight reduction and 42R power will be needed unless you want to run nitrous. You will have no A/C, open exhuast, go through 4k clutches every 20-30 passes etc etc. At least these are examples of proven 8 second combos expect to pay 30k+.

Good luck I can't wait to see the results!
