K&N Drop in Air Filter
The oil wetted medium attracts dirt supposedly better than a paper filter. Cone style or flat panel, there are thousands in use.
The only problem I have heard and have personally had was with a hot wire MAF sensor on my Nissan. I blew my MAF sensor by using a cone style intake. I don't know if oil contaminated the wire or too much airflow did it, but I had to remove my CAI on that car.
I read somewhere that the Ralliart panel filter caused erratic airflow readings in the dyno. Supposedly the K&N was better and did not have those problems.

I just installed K&N filter today and man I can feel the improvement. Turbo spooled alot quicker, you hear the wheezing alot louder @ high speeds, U can slightly hear the bov but its not as loud "not 2 loud" as I want it 2.
negative - rumbles @ idle.

It got me 7 more whp on Pruvens dyno. This was after Al dynoflashed the car.
It is part of all of Ultimate Racings upgrades so it cant be all that bad. I have had one on my last Evo and it made about 5hp over stock on DynoPak AWD dyno. Plus you never have to buy another filter again thats one reason I got one.
