My IX doesnt feel as fast as it should...

thats funny because i felt the same exact way when i got my ix not too long ago. i think you get really used to it. the first couple of weeks i was scared to hit the gas, now i am trying to smash the pedal through the floor to go faster 
Coming from a DSM backround, my IX doesnt feel as fast as I thought it would. Maybe I am expecting too much, but I just dont get the same feeling as I did with my eclipse when I had it modded(b16g, 3"exhaust, intake, 650s, act2600, safc2, etc...). I know that IXs are running 12.9s, and my eclispe was around a low-mid 12s, but it just doesnt feel like a 12 sec car to me. I know the MIVEC makes the power come on much smoother, but it still doesnt feel as fast. I was thinking that maybe I had a small leak in my intake piping. I wanted to take my IX to the track but I read about Mitsu recording plate numbers and voiding warranties. Does this still happen? I guess I could go for a ride in someones IX to compare, but I dont know anyone else with a stock IX. What were your guys impressions of your Evos when you first got them and what did you have to compare them to?

I think pretty much anyone who's really driven their IX will completely agree with you.
I remember the first night I had my car (bought it used with 4500 miles on it) and took a friend out on a drive and I was scared of the car so I wasn't flooring it.
I took another friend out a month later and i was mashing the pedal to the floor thinking, "that's all?"
Just installed a 3" TBE, HKS Intake and got my car tuned and it woke up. I was putting about 250whp after a flash stock (drop in filter) and now I'm at 315whp.
That woke the car up, it's a completely different beast.
