134a, I forgot the Capacity i think its 30oz. ITs located on the sticker on the hood.

Buy the hose and connect it to the LOW side port with the car on with the AC on.

The low side is marked with the "L" cap.

Hold the refrigerant upside down. The can should feel cold to signal its going into the system.

Go to WALMART and buy the 134 can!! It comes with a hose that has a gauge to tell you if it's full.. Very easy...I circled where you connect the hose

You said the kit was off the car for awhile.
Perhaps 1 can of oil/r134a combo + plain 134a

I've work for an auto parts store for 5 years now I help people with this countless times. Go and get a kit that has a guage in it. This is VERY important because if you over fill it, it wont get cold and you can damage the A/C system. You want it on the lower end of the full section 25 to 30. You will need the vehicle running and A/C on nuts out and recirculate. The connector that connects to the system will only go on the low pressure side, so you don't have to worry about putting it on the wrong one. Theres a lil trick I know to make this go a lil faster. Take a pot of HOT water not boiling just hot out of the tap, submerge the can about 3/4 of the way. This will help drive the fluid out because it heats the can up and keep it from getting cold when the fluid comes out.

I have recently done this to my evo...A/C wasn't cold as it should...

1. Go to Pepboys or an Auto parts store... and they have a whole section of recharge kits.
2. Get one with a Gauge.
3. put the guage/recharge plug onto the blue knob shown above in the picture.
4. Turn the car on, turn the A/C to full blast and let it run for couple of minutes.
5. You'll see the pressue drop on the gauge.
6. Now charge the system until the needle is on the "charged" section.
7. Let the system run for couple more minutes and charge as necessary.
8. save money and do it yourself.
9. My A/C is cold as ever!
**if your system is completely empty, you'll need at least 2 or 3 cans.*********

Good luck!
