A/C Problem

My A/C no longer gets cold although it is only 6 months old. It is fully charged (shows 60 psi on recharge kit) from the factory so I can't add more 134a without damaging the system. Where is the drain to remove some of the fluid so I can add the 20 oz of the recharge kit in? What is the next logical step? Thanks.

there is no drain and there is no fluid its gas!! you have to go to a shop who has the proper equipment to evacuate the gas!!! its very harmful to you and the enviroment, take it to a shop to see if your a/c is leaking.

actually if u know how an a/c system works it goes from a gas to a liquid back to a gas and every a/c has a drain tube. u need to check if the compressor clutch is click on and off. make sure the pressure switch is connected also check all fuses a/c related.

wait.... you have to evacuate the a/c system , put it under a vacume, add dye, and refill it to 18 oz. drive it for a day with the a/c on, then look for the leak with a black light and special glasses, goog luck! also add wicked evos step.

Here is how the gauge reads from the factory. I tried to add a bit of refrigerant after taking the pic and the pressure wouldn't move past 100 psi. Is my A/C shot?

Well I have plenty of mods and can't really take the car in for warranty work. Recharging it is a simple task compared to the work I am capable of doing, I just never looked into how an A/C works haha. I was just wondering if there were any other solutions or if anyone had encountered a similar problem. I bought the car in the winter and I'm just now using the A/C for the first time otherwise I would have noticed the problem much sooner.

Please do not mess with it anymore.Take it to a shop- does not have to be a dealer. You can really mess up some stuff. Like someone has already said, is your compressor clutch cycling on and off? If that 100 psi reading is on the low side your screwed if its on the high side you are low on freon. Ambient temp=80, Low side=30+-5 High side 200+-10. granted the clutch is cycling.

Yeah that's 100 psi on the low side and I've never touched it before taking that picture today. If the CC isn't cycling, what am I looking at in terms of repairs ($ wise)
