Is the rear passenger door touching the back of the front passenger seat?

Dang, I almost got T-boned this morning by a Tacoma. I was turning left (I had no stop sign) and he was only looking to his left and he lurched forward and then slammed on his brakes when he saw me. I yanked the wheel to the right and we missed each other by a foot or so. That's enough excitement for me, thank you.

Glad you're okay!

I remember the dealership telling me that they stopped making the IX's so soon due to Recaro needing to re-make the seats to fit for side-aribags. I believe 2007 cars and beyond are required to have side airbags..

Glad your ok! Sorry about your car!

I was under the false impression that the bolsters would offer some protection in a side impact collision. It appears that they can act more like a claw and pinch you to death. This is disheartening to say the least.
