My Evo ( SE was T-boned last night
As a prospective buyer of either an Evo or STi, this is one of the reasons I lean towards an STi, it has side airbags for side impacts like this accident. For this reason and a few others I'm definitely leaning towards the STi. Not to turn this into Evo vs. STi, but almost every car out there these days has side airbags, I'm not sure why Mitsu hasn't put them in the Evo yet. Maybe the X will have them.
Dang, I almost got T-boned this morning by a Tacoma. I was turning left (I had no stop sign) and he was only looking to his left and he lurched forward and then slammed on his brakes when he saw me. I yanked the wheel to the right and we missed each other by a foot or so. That's enough excitement for me, thank you.

A *** cable truck ran a red light and t-boned my right when I was turning into my apartment complex.... I have more photos I'll post later... But the car is done... roof is popping off the gas was leaking everywere.... Not a good day but the car did its job and I'm still walking around and here to type this post.

I think EvoX comes with side curtain airbags as standard if ime not mistaken (who knows). I think thats the reason why they stopped getting evo's in 2007. Correct me if ime wrong but the government is requiring that import cars need to have side curtain airbags starting 2007.

I was under the false impression that the bolsters would offer some protection in a side impact collision. It appears that they can act more like a claw and pinch you to death. This is disheartening to say the least.
