I have to admit that I made it look like another accident on purpose. It seems like every day I see someone else posting about how they wrecked their Evo.

With you thread title...I thought you wreck Evo...especially with the exclaimed WHAAM! Tickets are a part of the game...pay them off, do traffic school and your record is clean....in Cali that is.

I faced a similar situation recently after getting a ticket for going at 91mph on the freeway. But I was successful in fighting it. However I live in California and I believe my "modus operandi" on this should work in your state too.

Here's what I did. The letter I received from county court geve me two options. (a) pay up (b) get to the court house if I disagree with the charge.

I opted to pay the fine but I included a letter claiming that I wish to plead innocent of the charge. Just three lines and nothing more. They wrote back and get me to fill a form stating the reasons behind my stand. My reply was to be forwarded to the officer who charged me and the court was to wait for his response before deciding on the matter. I did write back and stated that I have a good driving record (the old good citizen) and that I created an optical illusion of going fast while passing a bunch of slower moving larger vehicles. Also I attached the photos of my Evo as evidence claiming that the car creates a negative perception of speeding. They wrote back four months later advising me that the case was dismissed and refunded the money I paid for the fine in full.

Try writing a note like I did. You have nothing to lose. Most likely you will win. Someone told me the officers do not get paid for paper work like having to esponding to a letter and most likely they will not waste their time responding to a letter like mine where as they get paid for court appearacnces in case you hire an attorny and attempt to fight it in courts. Good luck. ...but don't speed in the future. I still do though. It is impossible not to, with the Evo.
