If we are talking about best all around Evo wouldn't that have to include being able to take it on tight mountain roads? If we include that then I think that everything with even 450whp is pretty much out of the game.

Ok and I hate to be the grinch here, but perhaps this thread should be a little bit more detailed. What exactly is the author of this thread looking for, I noticed he commented that Dave Buschur's cars where a little bit heavy on the power side, huh . We are talking about the the ultimate EVO right?

Stock Motor with Stage IV bolt ons (Cams etc....)
Stock ECU w/EcuFlash
Stock Based Turbo like EvoGreen or TME 6.5RS
Robispec Suspension setup
Stock Interior with basic weight reduction
Upgraded Brakes
with around 400-450whp on race gas with equal torque
Someone who has proven themselves to be competitive on the track, autocross, drag strip.
Basically a budget setup that anybody can duplicate without taking out a second mortage on their house.

I'm still partial to this puppy as an enduring example of superb all-arounder Evo, and I should have bought it when it went up for sale on eBay. Some lucky owner is well, lucky.
Sparco Apex'i FTW.
Best,
Adam

OK...everyone currently out there in the US. Need suggestions for the greatest all arounders. Can be shop car or private. No negative comments, only nominees. Has to be good at road course, drag, dyno(both power and power band), reliable, look good, well crafted, and have some level of good driveability retained as a street car. Again we are talking all arounders, no a car that is good at one thing. Let me here 'em.

I nominate my bone stock Evolution IX SE. It's good enough that I honestly don't need anything done to it at the moment.
It has good power, good powerband, it's a good daily driver, good on the auto-x, road race, and drag strip. I think it's a little lacking in the dyno queen category, but it still does in a Subby WRX or Civic SI. So I'm happy.
Oh, and did I mention reliability and the one thing those cars don't have? Warranty. That's right. I didn't fart on my seats
