ohio.....almost all of the counties have gotten rid of the emmisions testing. as long as your tint isnt to dark, exhaust isnt to loud, or stereo turned up, your good to go. noone looking under the hood or checking the cat

NC has no emissions...they do have inspections but they're lenient with them. This last december I had to take my car in for my annual inspection and I had all the mods in my sig except for the cams and she passed with flying colors (I'm also catless)

Oy fellas,
the best state for ANY modded car is NOT in the USA but has to be this other emirate near Dubai called UM AL QAIWEEN. You could literraly mod a ****ing corrola and install ur chilled water pipe (from ur house roof) as an exhaust and register the little ****er
Am dead serious ppl !!

I wouldn't vote for a strict police state, which includes MI and OH. In Detroit you won't get pulled over for having mods, but japanese cars aren't too apreciated. They also loose votes for giving points for 1mph over on a speeding ticket. In the suburbs they really like to target vehicles. Ohio's good if your on a track, but stay off the street. They give more tickets/driver then almost every other state.
I've driven all over the country(not in my evo), FL is pretty well rated. I did get one ticket for tints in my wife's car, although all my cars have had illegal tints. The police are nondiscriminatory, ricer, muscle, crotch rocket if you get pulled over you probably diserve it. It's nice not to always be driving in fear, to know that if your not the fastest car on the road weaving in and out of traffic, you'll most likely be left alone.

No emmisions or inspection in Florida. In south Florida cops don't even seem to notice the evo exists. Every cop I drive by does not so much as even look at my car. Although I heard on the news today our governor wants to go as green as Cali so we'll see what happens.

in florida,
its actually illegal to have any type of exhaust modification. 100 percent full factory only.
its extremely rare for cops to give out tickets for it, unless they just dont like you.
a few years ago, they sat outside the parking lot of the convention center in daytona and ticketed every car that had dark tint coming out of spring break nationals.
but, i have only been pulled over once in 50k miles on my car.
i deserved a ticket really bad, but left without one. i was even stopped by two cops....
