how does the flash work, what I mean is do you have to send in your ecu in exchange? I like to know cuz I would like to keep my own ecu.

Does anyone know the background of the tuners or engineers that are remapping the "brain" with Works. I'm not questioning anyone's expertise, just wanting to know a little more about them.

Are they a sucessful local group going national? Have they been in business a long time or a new startup? The strength of a warranty differs between a 10 year old company and a 3 week old company. Have they a track record of success with other makes of cars? Am I being to nosey? Thanks in advance.

I'll stick to the S-AFC, I keep moding my car and the re-flash won't keep up.

Just took my car out after getting my Ecu flash at Works. When you hit the throttle it’s so smooth and some of the turbo lag is gone. OMG, I was shifting between 7900-7950 in the first three gears; you can feel the power throughout the entire rev range by the seat of your pants. It feels like a totally different car. All I can say is KICK A$$!!! This is by far the best investment that I have every made in a car.
Thanks David, for everything the flash Ecu totally ROCKS!!!!

Note: 93 Octane flash Ecu. Car is stock with no other mods. David said in a post redline was set at 7850, well I got 7900-7950 this could be because of factor tach.
Glad you like it! Enjoy!

If I were to get a reflash, could I also get a Super AFC or does the reflashed ECU do its job?

Also, where exactly is the ECU and how do you remove it? I can't drive my car until I get the ECU back right?

the EVO wins - not sure if you have answers to your question yet but:

1) You won't need an SAFC with the re-flash.

2) Works has a nice one sheet pdf they can send you which details removal of the ECU. It is located behind the glovebox on the right side as you sit facing the glovebox.Other than three ECU retaing bolts, the rest comes apart without tools.

3) No ECU= no engine control, which means you can't drive her.

I will be coming up that Friday 7-11-03. Evo Rosso, when you post too get on the list 7-1-03, please add the Motel where we can all hook up that night.

The Evo is still running very strong and so smooth throughout the powerband.

Why would you want to rev it to 7900rpm + ??? Doesnt sound safe for the longevity of the engine and the powertrain.....
