Another Evo into the 8's on boost! Mike Reichen's Evo 2
Another Evo into the 8's on boost! Mike Reichen's Evo 2
This past Sunday I went to the track with Mike Reichen to help him sort out his launching gremlins. After a few bogs, upping the 2 step, and trying a different launching style he broke into the 8's with an 8.974 @ 156.95 mph.
Here's a breakdown of the time slip as well as a scan.
60 ft 1.365
330 ft 3.841
1/8 mile 5.812
1/8 mph 123.86
1000 ft 7.532
1/4 mile 8.974
1/4 mph 156.95

He had at least a 10 mph head wind, and the car was all over the place. I was taking video and fu**ed it up because I saw him heading for the wall. He pulled the little ***** straight and went on to his 8 second pass. I'm sure with a good track like Norwalk, and no head wind, an 8.80 is in the bag. It's going to get interesting when he decides to pull the trigger on the spray.
The track conditions got worse, and he spun all 4 to a 9.083 @ 157.67mph. that was with a 1.45 60 ft. A local bike guy got some good video of the 8 second pass and a low 9. Once I get it I'll post it in this thread.
The crazy thing about it is he's still on a 70mm 42r, HKS 272's, no spray, and the car weighs over 2750 with Mike in it. With a larger 42r, some meaty cams, 200 lbs lighter, and on the bottle Mike's little Evo is going to be scary fast.
Mike would also like to thank everyone involved with his Evo 2, Devo Tuning for all of there hard work, Shearer Fabrications for there excellent header and intercooler, Head Dynamics for there power making port work, Arias Pistons for there reliable pistons, Shep Trans for making an awesome dog box that shifts like no other, and Kiggly Racing for the best valve springs on the market.

congrats!!! was this the same car (white i think) that was at the wrx vs. evo shootout at norwalk? if so, i rememeber walking by it when you were testing the 2-step and i think it woke a baby up :-)
Yep, same baby waking Evo 2.
It's also the same Evo 2 that broke The Texas Mile unlimited street class record at 202 mph
