View Poll Results: How much will the value of the IX and VIII go down once the X's come into town?
I believe it won't go down, maybe up (assuming you have mods or you're waiting for the right buyer)

~~~Evo VIII, IX vs X~~~~
All the cars you mentioned are definitly pretty, but I've gotta say, I really don't think I see more EVO's than Supra's or 7's. I'm sure that it has nothing to do with production #'s, more to do with new drivers that can't handle 4wd turbos.
Also, I like the way the market looks for the EVO, but I don't have one as an investment. It'll prob drop in value, as all cars do, but at the end of the day you still have a stupidly fast car. (which is all that matters)
There are more evos out there, than rx-7s or supras
Call me crazy but modding your car typically doesn't increase it's resale value. Often times it decreases it. I mean say your in the market for an evo and you've got to pick between a showroom looking 100% stock evo vs. one some kid has been tweeking with for a few years... Call me crazy but I'd pick the stock evo, and I'd argue one day owners may even be able to charge a bit of a premium for a showroom Evo.
I wouldn't suggest modding your car and expecting financial returns on it, that's never been a good investment.
In certain cases yes.
Now I remember a showroom condition evo with tasteful mods (owned by a vendor I forgot which one) And he was selling it for around 29-30...GSR with 1X,000 miles or something along the lines of that..
But I get where you're coming from, but people do tend to wait for the right buyer IF they have a modded car
^Are you trying to say that they will become rare? I'm trying to see how your post relates to the thread, and no, I'm not being a jackass. Just trying to decipher your post.
They probably will in ten years or so. It just seems like every teen/ricer finally get there parents agree to buy them a car and they end up crashing them. I mean that wasn't the case for FD's and supra's since they were kind of expensive in the 90's and didn't really have movies being made of them until the late 90's
Now you have movies with these car's so all the young kids/ricers want these cars. And they think they can drive and just end up crashing/totaling these cars.
Most of the thread about the evo X i have seen has been negative comments....either people are complaining about the way it looks, some dont like it cause its not a 4g63.......No one really knows if the value will go up or down, only time will tell.
just watch, we'll all be parting ways with our evos in 4-5 years selling our cars for under 20k and 50 years from now we'll see our evos in a barret jackson auction going for over 100k.
*sigh*
. . . .. but the DSM is tempting...I'm pretty sure some older 2,3,4,5's would go for around there in MINT condition..but what do i know haha
I agree look at how many TT supra's and RX-7's there are today and thats about how many EVO's will be rolling around 7 or 8 years from now. Besides back then they werent running as much power threw them back then as most of the Evo's are nowadays. And yeah it's more expensive for me to insure my 03 EVO then a 07 911 Turbo.
