Your friends needs to get on the net, do some research, install a couple of things, learn to drive, then head to the track.

BTW the mods get annoyed when someone mentions they were street racing (ie racing from a roll)

I give props to mopar for creating such a car SCC gave it car of the year, I feel that had Mitsu and Subaru had not brought there flagship sports cars over to the U.S. in 2003 many of the members of this forum would be driving an SRT-4 myself included.

I LUV TURBO CARS!!!

SRT-4 a nice car for what it is. I wish more companies would invest in turbo cars.

Because it is in our rules that absolutely NO STREET RACING threads/posts/videos are allowed. EVER. I get really mad when I see them (and ban-happy), so we will assume all talk here is about track driving. Got it?

I used to own an srt-4. I first did the wga mod, then got exhaust. Later got Mopar stage 2 and finally .50 trim. So I know how to mod the srt-4, and I currently am driving/learning about the evo.

For the EVO crew. SRT-4's are pretty quick cars. They trap around 99-102 mph (mostly 100.9 area), and 1/4 mile times ranging from 14.4 to 13.8 (2.6-2.0 60') . Why such a big gap? Because not many people know how to launch a front wheel drive with at least 230 front wheel horsepower. Mopar rates the car at 230 hp and 250 torque and they actually come with that bone stock to the wheels. (underrated) (But the 2003 year had no LSD, less power (215-220 whp), and slightly weaker axles).

SRT-4's are quicker than EVO 8's stock for stock from a roll. Its mostly because of the power to weight ratio. Evo 8 3200 lbs ~225-230 awhp, while srt-4's are 225-230 fwhp. (given that both cars are healthy and no boost leaks) From stop, an srt-4 would lose, from a roll it would win, especially at higher speeds. I personally think the Evo 9 is quicker stock for stock, but thats me remembering and comparing. Plus since 104 is the trap speed on the evo 9 and compared to the usual 100.9 to 102 tops trap on an srt-4, that pretty much explains it.

Now we need to know what kind of EVO your friend has? (EVO 8 or 9) This will better enable us to help him use his money efficiently to beat you.

What kind of 60's are you pulling? S1, agp wga, and sri mods would make you trap about 104-105 mph (If I remember correctly) with a good launch. Just remember do not boost too much over 17 psi because the stock map sensor cant read past ~18 psi and the ecu will pull timing making you slower than stock.

wow..you know what your talking about...Well he has a 2004 Evo So whatever that is..

my 60 ft's are around 2.1-2.3...When I ran a 13.8 It was the 2.1 60 ft. Your right about the 14.4 because ppl dont know how to launch fwd cars thathave that much hp..theres a dude that runs allll the time with S2 with toys run 14.2-14.7 He cant drive for ****.

Im only running 17lbs right now I would get a mapclamp but then I would need ot get the wideband as well wouldnt I?

TBE(Turbo back exhaust), BC(Boost controller) either Manual or Electric and a tune. He might want to get a LICP(Lower intercooler pipe) as well.

I almost got a 04' srt-4. Modded with about 330whp for 13k. Only reason why I didnt get it is because the gf thought it was ugly..no offense. lol. But come on...srt-4 vs. evo on appearance?
