I have this with my JDM rear, and it fits great.
While the one in that thread looks cool, I wouldn't trust that thing at all for low speed bumps.

It's tubular...that's great. Unfortunately the bracket is weak. The welds aren't even all the way around but that doesn't make any difference.

The stock crash bar is squared to absorb impact. The mounts are centered and allow the entire bar to spread the force of impact.

The bar you pictured would simply bend up or bend down.

It's really just a very well made license plate bracket that happens to be screwed into the crash bar mounting location.

But it does look to be very well made.

Good luck. The MIG will work fine as there will need to be some space filling to get the mount on there and secured around all 4 sides.
