MBC = check engine??

Hi guys

I put a manual boost controller (MBC) on my car last night. I took out the stock electronic boost solenoid, and now my check engine is on. Also, the stock boost gauge stop working too. So is it the trade off for the MBC? Is there anyway I can erase the check engine light, get the boost gauge to work, and have my MBC? Is it too much to ask?

Thanks in advance

There's a great "How To" on MBC installation.

I checked that, but not quite sure which port to cap off.

I hooked the stock solenoid back and reset ECU and that seem to take care of the check engine. The stock boost gauge still not working.

I ran a piece of hose to both ports, instead of using caps. I run my MBC off the Turbo nipple to the WG.

Are you talking about the two ports on the stock solenoid? If so, I did that too. The gauge still not work.

I didn't know the RS came with a Boost Guage, I thought it was just the MR's.

Are the factory gauges mechanical or electronic? I've never checked. If they are mechanical, find the line and T it to another line off the manifold. Your SES might be on due to overboost if you don't know how many PSI your running. You have no way to tell.

The factory gauge is mechanical. Sounds like its vacuum line is no longer connected. I'd cap both nipples of the solenoid (or connect with hose) just to keep bugs and crud out. It'll run fine capped or not.

Thanks you all for the quick replies. I think I got it all sort out. The boost gauge not working have nothing to do with the MBC after all. It's was just one of the hoses got blown off. I hooked it up, zip tied it and that was it. Thanks again.
