Yes I have SSL, I was just pointing out the fact that the SE was not the only way to get HID's and fogs. Best bet is to get JDM and be done with it.

and Kyooch, the only way to get Fog lights is to get a new housing. Since you have the IX I'm pretty sure there's quite a few that will want your lights. Sell them and get the JDM.

I don't think you have HID so you'll need a 9006 to 9005 connector.

Ah I see, thanks for the tip...

So, haha is there anyone who wants to buy my headlights and then sell me some JDM ones? Actually this might be an illegal post I think I need 50 to do something like that..

I saw Gruppe-S selling JDM headlights and a few members selling it for slightly cheaper, but how would I sell my headlights if I don't have enough posts?
And if I have the JDM would I just be able to buy an H11 HID kit (like IIKDO) and then pretty much plug and play?

JDM? Eh... you might be better off just buying some used IX MR or SE or SSL headlights. JDMs seem cool if you're already planning on getting JDM tails as well since they're both flat black. At least this way (getting the used ones), you'll still match all around. I've seen quite a few for sale.

If you want the jdm housings they use the oem D2S sockets for the bulb. If your low beam bulb socket is an h11 you cant just buy an h11 kit. It wont fit into the D2S Socket. I have an VIII RS. I modded my oem headlights and added foglights. 8 months later I was cut off and damaged my passenger side front corner. One of my one-off lights was busted. So I bit the bullet ordered the JDM housings and a D2S HID kit from xenondepot.com with an h11 harness adapter. This allowed my h11's to plug into the oem D2S bulbs. The only down part is you will need to cut your headlight harness off and wire up your new HID housings into the non HID harness. With a volt meter and a friend helping you change from signal light to running lights, to low beam and so on (with a friend saves you about 20 min.) You can wire up one light. Then the second light is really easy since you know what color wire goes where. Hope that short novel explained what you will be getting yourself into rather than just buying an h11 HID kit and plugging it in to your stock housings.

Oh.. hmm. I thought the H11 was for the fog lights and then they said that 9006 was the one I should use for the low beams? I was just wondering the scenario if I, got say just the a USDM IX MR's headlights and then if I would be able to just put H11's into the housing for the fog lights and the 9006 into the housing for low beam. Actually in reality I have no idea what I'm talking about.

well to my knowledge, i have an 05 gsr NON SSL and i was about to go about doing a hook up, i never got around to it but best bet were to get a foglight kit, includeing a foglight switch, a relay, and the whole harness, only thing i was never able to get was the h11 connecters. so thats why i stoped if you can find some h11 connecters then you would be in the clear.i believe thats all i would have needed to do this set up. oh and if you wanted it to look like oem with a oem switch that woulda been a headache on getting your hands on one of them.

That is pretty weird, maybe it's slightly different between the 8 and the 9? Because everyone with the 9 is saying there's no housing or anything in the place the fog lamps should be and that you'd actually have to cut the unit open or something

i have an 06 IX with no fogs myself. i WAS considering doing this untill i saw EVODAVEs headlight ram-air fabrication im looking to do myself. Im pretty sure there was a detailed VERY INVOLVED procedure on these forums i remember reading. Lots of relays and what not...not really a straight up easy job but good luck.

the non ssl headlight housings for both i know mos definetly the 8 non ssl has a plastic cover where the fog should be. i myself purchased jdm evo 8 MR headlights so that took care of that. but if someone were to open up there stock housings and just cut it out then you could possibly use it. i wont be the one to open it up i did something like that with my rsx's headlights and they were never the same, constantly fogging up and what not.

Yes you have to open them up. I did and cut my blank fog light section out. I bought perfect size fog light kit (harness, switch, relays) Your IX does have 9006 low beam bulbs. They changed them from the VIII's. My VIII low beams are H11. This is only useful if your going to get an HID kit. If you are just adding fogs it doesnt matter, Since you will be adding a harness and the bulbs would be probably h1 or h3 bulbs. I dont have any good close up pics but you can kinda see the foglight in my housings of the second pic.

PS - I hate gold wheels, and the c-west bumper! Those are both gone! haha

Kyooch, yes you need to have 50 post before you can post a thread to sell anything. There's still some demand for the IX head lights, I just bought a used pair for $240 shipped.

About you wanting to run Fog HID, it's not a plug and play. The reason is because you don't have the wiring that come stock like SSL, MR & SE does. They have the wiring that's for the fog. The HID conversion kit plugs into the original wiring.

For us, we have to do a little wiring.

I think it's just better if you just go with some HID and give up on the fog, it's not as easy and cheap as we would like it to be.

sad... yeah thanks for all this tips, I think I will just go with some HID's for now... maybe sometime later in the future I will get some new headlights and try to work all of that out.
