you know that you have to down shift out of 5th to something else when you are going ford ranger speeds right? turbo usually doesn't kick in at those speeds..

honestly.. i drove one the other day.. a v6 one.. and i thought the e-brake was on or something.. it didn't move out of its own way..

Tomorrow on the way to work when the Ranger blows your doors off, try skipping a gear when you downshift. 3000 rpms in 5th put it in 3rd, before you let the clutch out match the revs with accelerator, drop the clutch and BAM!!! instantanious boost and one pissed off Ranger.

rangers are slow unless they are modified, I know i've ridden in them before even so they wouldn't be able to keep up with a stock evo, it must be the driver mod thats messing you up
