It has been 4 years with my Evo without trouble and yesterday my luck changed; two idiots rammed it in traffic. I was in line at a traffic light and we had just started rolling from the green light when the idiots behind me smashed into the back of my Evo (guessing a 10mph impact). The #$%! in the Ford Ranger then sped off doing a hit and run. The rear bumper cap is mangled and the the passenger side wing support is starting to separate from the upper trunk.

Just curious those of you that have had this type of accident in your Evos what type of damage resulted?

 

You didn't use that as an excuse to chase him down. I would have Tommi Makinnen'ed that mitsu and phoned the police litting them know whatsup.
I chased down some MF years ago when I saw him break in my clipse. Did this exact same thing, and police took over my chase. I was pulled over by second cruiser. Junk was resolved and i was let go.

 

ok so the ford ranger actually got away? Did you get the license plate number at least? If it was just the rear bumper i would have chased the idiots down first and then worried about the bumper.

 

When my rear bumper got hit, my trunk floor was crushed and the rear quarter panels were bent. There was damage in the front since I was pushed into another car, but it sounds like you were ok in the front.

 

Come on dude, you're telling me you're driving an evo, go some damage done, by some A-hole and didn't chase him down? Please tell me you got the license.

 

Should have chased him down for sure and called the police while you were doing it, 100% sure that ranger could not outrun an evo

It would have been a nice excuse to speed/weave/and beat that MF down! I have had two people rear-end me since I bought my car a year ago

 

Turns out other witnesses got the plate and called Police. I only had a partial as they were obscured in traffic as they sped away. Re: Chasing, I convinced myself not to chase as I didn't know what the damage was on the car at that moment.

Just trying to see what damage others have had resulting from this type of shunt in an Evo.

 

Was your car in or out of gear when they hit you?

 

Some lady rear ended me a while back coming out of the parking lot at work! You believe that? It wasnt even on a public road. At least she paid to have the bumper repainted. $400 bucks. Shoulda took the cash and got the JDM IX rear. I suggest you do that if your insurance company gives you a check.

 

Well my damage was from 5mph'ish. Basically made an imprint in my bumper from their front plate, very hard to notice if your not looking for it. I replaced the bumper anyways with a used OEM one. How's your damage?

 

I had just let out the clutch and was in 1st gear.

 

I've lost to a Ranger, you'd be surprised.

 

^^^ buhahaha. that sucks to hear about the wreck i would of chased em down to and then grabbed em and rubbed their face on my bumper then beat them with a newspaper, then called the cops.. people who do not pay attention **** me off. then when they run that is just stupid.

 

i kno that wing is like 1200bucks or something rediculous
