Correct me if i'm wrong here but i thought the vortex generator is only used effectively when paired up with the stock wing. I believe the purpose it was engineered for is to channel the air better over our evo wings and so getting this rexpeed spoiler or even going wingless means your vortex generator won't be very functional anymore. (don't get me wrong here, i'm sure the difference is minimal and i'm all for the rexpeed wing - i think it looks great)

Any thoughts on this? Does it really do anything paired up with a no (or a very low) rear spoiler?

Right, the vortex generators won't create any downforce without the stock wing since their purpose is simply to create turbulent flow off of the roofline and increase wind velocity. I'd guess the Type-C wing is too low to benefit.

The VG is used mainly to reduce drag and will do this with or without a rear spoiler. One of the side effects of this is that more air-flow is directed onto the rear wing, also resulting in slightly more downforce. For details, read here: http://www.mitsubishi-motors.com/cor...w/e/index.html (IIRC, it's in the 2004 technical review)

APR rear undertray (aka diffuser) can, among other places, be found here: http://www.lancershop.com/customer/home.php?cat=63

That is the Voltex rear diffuser. Very nice piece and also very expensive. Not sure if it will fit a USDM rear bumper - looks like it needs the JDM style rear bumper to fit.

with the stock wing and the vg, you should get worse gas mileage than without the vg, because you increase the downforce by increasing airflow to the wing, but does that mean that with a vg and wingless, you should get the best mileage, because the vg would decrease drag and wingless would decrease downforce?

Just put my rexpeed type-c spoiler on today and love it. My IX is GG had the VG and Spoiler painted gloss black and it looks bad a$$!
