There, if you buy the tbe and cams used, you should be able to make it within 2K, maybe a few hundred bucks over but i am sure you can take that step

 

approx 340hp on a tune and exhaust and nothing else (fuel pump, pipes, o2 housing, intake, or BOV). whiteline front roll center kit, rear bumpsteer kit, and trailing arm bushings with a 0/0 toe alignment and whatever camber you can get out of the stock suspension. should still be under $2000.
