Anyway I have been doing some research on the EVO and it fits all my wants in road race car and daily driver. BUt I want to hear from all the owners out there what the pro's and cons of owning this car are as far as what u like and dislike about the car besides the gay *** taillights
Also since I cant test drive one of there beautys I was wondering if anybody in SOCAL that ownes one would take me for a spin and I will buy lunch and thow u some gas money I just want to see how the car is outside of the showroom
Also anybody know where I can get a good deal on one in socal RIverside said if the money is there MSRP will be easy to obtain .***** 20K down better be *
Thanks for your time
Chris

plus:
turn in like nothing else
wonderful seats
lighting by God
tons of pontential for little $
minus:
harsh ride (but only if you don't like it)
funky powerband - this aint no small block
gaudy wing
interior sucks compared to most $30k cars
maintaince is more costly then most - but you should know that going in
overall - very fun car with great utility and a small downside for me
and wait till you can get one at MSRP - they are out there - just be patient & stick to your guns!

PROS:
steering, braking and handling are incredible. EXCELLENT room for big and tall drivers (much more so than the WRX or STI), seats are very good even if you are somewhat overweight. driving position is very good, steering wheel, pedals, shifter all line up perfectly for sporting use. decent miles per gallon around town if you stay out of boost (20-24mpg), good power above 3500 once boost is up, availability of sunroof, availability of parts for the 4G63 to make it MUCH stronger, beautiful color choices, very nice & bright headlight setup, easy conversion to non-Altezza tail lights, easy swap of trunk to get rid of wing if desired, excellent all weather car with a second set of wheels and tires, beautiful car (personal view) even with the big wing, it actually is a functional sedan with decent room for 4 people (family car!),
CONS:
extremely bouncy ride on poor roads, steering so sharp that holding a line on a rough road can be difficult, relatively low miles per gallon on the highway in cruise mode (24-26mpg) and small gas tank mean frequest stops for gas on long road trips, lack of power below 3000rpm, "ricey" wing (it's optional - sorta), altezza tail lights, ultra crappy stereo, drivetrain noises (comes with the territory of a sportscar though)
If you are into performance like MOST OF US, then the CONS wont be a big deal to you - alot of it comes with the territory of owning a high performance car, and you can usually fix the rest with some upgrades.
Thats pretty much it. Excellent car, highly recommended as a "fun" car and even a rural/suburban commuter, not so highly recommended as a highway tourer or rough city road car.
If you are not used to a performance car however, you might find yourself nitpicking the car's perfromance characteristics to death. This car is DEFINITELY NOT for picky people wanting luxury and isolation from the road.
Well anybody in SOCAL willing to take me for a spin ( I dont want to drive) just want to see how she runs threw her paces.
Please keep feedback rolling
ALSO HOW RELIABLE IS THE EVO MOTOR? I HOPE ITS NOT LIKE THE OLD SCHOOL ECLIPSE'S THAT BREAL DOWN EVERY MONTH AFTER A YEAR OF DRIVING IT
thanks

the stock stereo sucks - plain and simple. Its the same one that came in my Mom's base model Gallant, it cant play burned CDs without skipping and popping, and the speakers are garbage and sound horrible when you crank the volume with the sunroof and windows open on the road. I bet that whole stereo system probably cost
maybe $100.
I guess I got used to the MONSOON systems in the Camaros and other GM cars I own/owned, the Monsoon is far from perfect but at least it's decent enough that you don't feel like you must replace it immediately after purchasing the vehicle.
Maybe you guys all just listen to AM radio or Neil Diamond or are deaf or something, because that thing sucks for music...

First thing i wanted to do was put a heavy *** system in my performance car so when i turn up my music really loud the sound waves propel me to victory. Buy a different car.
Oh and all i play are CDR's no problems what so ever. so while your out getting a car with a better "system" pickup a new burner.
