Tranny grinding will warranty cover it? 5th Gear?

I have really bad 5th gear grinding, it doesn't grind from 4th to 5th straight but when you put it in neutral and then back in 5th it grinds really badly. I was just wondering if warranty would cover it its a 05 with 19800 stock.

Thanks

If it is stock then yes. If modified then you are sol...... If one delaer doesn't help you, go to another one.

I hope rick case is not the only Mitsubishi in town for you. Why won't he warranty it? If it is grinding with that mielage something is wrong.

Rick Case just likes to be a Big **** but i just called them and spoke to them and they'll check it out and let me know if its "driver error" or if its something wrong with the tranny. There going to charge me 100 dollars to look at it ? should i go somewhere else?

yes that's bs you shouldn't have to pay to have it looked at according to the warranty and what I was told when I brought my car in for a rear end squeak. They said the 100 charge was required because my car was out of warranty. Bov CAI springs looking at the car is free under warranty otherwise I don't know how tranny issues are handled. Worse case go shep trans LOL

They cannot charge you to look at your car. Its a warrenty claim. Its crap like this that give mitsu a bad name. Ill never buy a new mitsu expecting a warranty. Plus I dont trust any of those so called techs anywhere near my car.

F*&^ all Mitsu dealers I havent met one I trust as far as I can throw.

I don't think it is your transmission. It is probably your fifth gear syncho. I believe that there is a TSB for this very thing. It is covered under warranty, but I would suggest removing your aftermarket parts just to forego any bs that the dealership might give you. There is no way in he!! that I would pay the $100 if it is under warranty. That is the purpose of a warranty.

have you changed your fluid lately?

i've had a terrible 4th to 5th gear grid, i changed the fluid, the grinding went away and 30,000 miles later still haven't had it grind again.

The Reason There Charging You Is Because If It Dosent Go Warranty Then Mitsu Wont Pay For The Diag. Witch Is Bull But Thats The Way Mitsu Is. If The Car Is Stock It Should Be Covered. If The Dealer Is Giving You The Run Around Then Get A Hold Of The District Service Manager. Just Make Sure You Have No Mods And A Stock Clutch Other Wise The Try To Void Your Power Train Warr.
