This is why eBay sketches me out...
i got my ix mr on ebay last november with 9k miles, an exhaust, dp and clutch for $26k. the car was perfect and the seller was easy to deal with. third car i've purchased off ebay without a problem.
it's just some of the people out there is trying to get you, i've been buying parts for my old car on ebay, and never once got scammed. U have to be careful when u buy, read their feed back and don't buy from anyone with no feedback or neg feedbacks.
I sold cars on eBay for a high-end dealership for about a year. There is a big difference between the people selling a car with 6 pictures and no description and the "real" sellers on eBay that take the time and effort to put together a well done ad with an in-depth description and pictures, not to mention taking the time to talk with potential buyers.
As with anything on-line, do your research and take your time to find the car you want and take the necessary precautions (i.e. talking to the buyer, etc...) before jumping into the purchase because it looks like a good deal. Most of the time, the scams are pretty easy to see.

That's why you have options...for instance:
You watermark your username on your pictures, or have your username in your pictures.
or
Host your pictures somewhere else, and if someone just hotlinks them to sell it somewhere else change the orig picture to a giant ***** or something.
