Long term damage?
Went to a local mechanic to get an oil change (I know i know i should do it myself but what can i say, i'm lazy). Mobile 1 10W30 and filter. All is good until I get home to make sure the oil looked nice and clean. The next day after work, I decide to check the dipstick to make sure the oil looks nice and clean. Turns out, the mechanic added too much oil. Went back to him, he basically said "OH SHOOT", drained some oil to safe levels. My question is: Could the day of driving with excess oil cause any damage? The car seemed to run fine afterwards.

I did that on my bike added to much and I was at an intersection and my bikes exhaust was pouring smoke out. it was like a smoke screen seen on movies. I pulled over and turned the bike off and let it cool and then since I had to get back to my house I just drove it smoking all the way and drained some and that solved it. I look back now and it was really funny cause it was a lot of smoke coming out.

just drain some of it. I believe it will cause the oil to foam and some driveability problems. I had the same thing and the evo engine sound is like muffled. I immediately drained part of the oil. the manual advise us not to go past the line.
