Trading Evo IX for m3... good idea?

I jsut want a nice looking daily driver with a little power so I came across this m3. 2003 for 29k. It has 59k miles. I'm thinking of trading my evo IX with 9.5k miles. 1/3 of my evo is paid off. What do you guys think??

Keep the Evo.
Yes, you'll be basking in fine luxury-sportiness, but you'll be lusting for AWD forced induction soon after.

M3's are sweet cars. Not a bad choice... Heck the M3 will be worth more in the end ...

I love my evo and the performance it puts out but it causes way too much attention (good and bad). I also found out I don't like daily driving a 2.0 4 banger in a car that weighs 3400 with me inside. Ahhhhh the decision! I plan on checking out an m3 today

M3s are very nice cars. Daily driving is 10 times better in a M3. I guess if your not looking for a mod friendly car then go for it. But make sure it has every recall done. The millage is pretty high look for one with less miles.

I see. I want a 2003+ m3 that is 30k at most. Anything under 2003 I do not want. I heard they got problems. This is the cheapest one I've found in my area. You guys think I can talk down a 35k priced m3 down to 30k??? It has 41k miles.

BMW's are notorious for horrible maintainence costs so be prepared for that. Other than that it's a nice car.

I went the other way around and it really comes down to what you want...

Do you want a comfortable car with alot of amenities or do you want a sparsely outfitted car geared more for performance than a compromise?

What image are you trying to portray, if anything? Ashy or Classy?

edit: Im alot happier with the IX as opposed to the M but people around me think Im crazy for what I did... At the end of the day, you're the one driving the car so that didnt matter too much to me... GL...

The M3's are very prone to high maintenance costs due to the complex engineering of that machine.

I would do some research on your E46 M3 that your planning on buying. I believe from 2002 to early 2003 E46 M3 have bad rod bear issues. BMW does provide a fix for this but you will have to consult your stealership about the recall if it hasn't been done.

I would also wait on buying a E46 M3 because the new M3 will be coming out in 2008 with a V8 400hp.
