E-Brake light

So after 12,000 trouble free miles I have my first glitch, albeit a small one. Has anyone had there e-brake light come on for any reason while driving? For some reason, my brake light comes on the speedo gauge when I take a left turn at any kind of speed. Car drives fine, but its annoying to be in the middle of a turn and see the damn brake light coming on

This has dealer warranty written all over it.

actually this has new brake pads written all over it...... check your brake fluid, chances are if the fluid is low you may need some pads.... so also check the pads before adding fluid, so if the pads are ok u know u just need fluid

Hmm...I must be going crazy because all the answers were not what I was expecting. My brakes feel fine! I think this is simply an electrical problem. This is my e-brake light which usually only comes on when your e-brake is applied(please correct me if I am wrong). Car is driving super fine, but this seems like it could only be an electrical problem as it goes on and off as it pleases. It does not come on under braking. Basically, it started coming on when I would take a hard left, which requires no braking input. Anyways, just going to take it to the dealer to have it looked at. Thanks for everyone's answers.

Also, would low brake fluid make the e-brake light come on??

Try searching next time.

The light is not only an indicator of when your e-brake is on but also tied to the float in your brake fluid reservoir, lighting when it is low. Your light is most likely coming on because the fluid is sloshing to the side and the float is going low. Why? Your pad thickness is low leaving the pistons out further leaving more fluid in your calipers, or you've leaked fluid somehow and your fluid is low from that.

Boo. Not what I want to hear. Thanks for all the feedback, it is really appreciated. I should have done a search--been so busy I posted this q on 7/25 and just looked for answers now. I did have both front rotors resurfaced about three months ago and I had about 1/2 pad life then, so hopefully it is only the fluid being low.

I was wondering when I would get flamed over my stupidity regarding this.

I really can't explain why a brake light lit up on my dash did not compute to inspect my brake fluid level/rotors.

It was only low brake fluid, the light went off. Doh.
