Yes...I'm an EVO n00b and I've searched.

I'm looking into cat-backs. I really like the Tanabe Medalion Touring sound clips. I noticed the Super Medalion Hyper looks similar. It looks like the Tanabe Medalion is a little quieter, but other than that they seem about the same. Can anyone comment on either of these? Anyone have a sound clip of the Super Medalion Hyper they can post? Any reason to go with one over the other?

I have the Medallion Touring. Quality is great. Sound is great too. At the beginning, the sound is quiet. But when you drive more than 2000miles, the sound likes a quite Honda. A high but loud and a little bit deep tone.

I like that exhaust.

I like both! I think the Medalion Touring would be the best one to keep under the radar.

I thought the hyper was disconinued and the touring was modeled after the hyper. I have to check, I can't remember. The touring is really nice.

I've got the touring medallion and really like it. Made the car run much better and has a nice deep tone. Actually seems quiter than stock when cruising but when you open it up it is somewhat loud.

I have the touring medallion. The tips are different and im sure the canister is a little different too.

Touring is quieter as far as I know.

Get the Madalion touring.

I really like the way the double wall tips look and its stated to be under 93 db. The hyper doesnt mention how many db it is, so I'm assuming the Madalion Touring is quieter.

Here is a thread I made with pics and my review. Check it out for your self. I made multiple angle shots to see how far it sticks our, how well its aligned etc...

I tried making a soundclip but the problem is most cameras including mine wont pick up the deep audible sounds. So you will not be listening to how the exhaust really sounds.

Here are a few clips Tanabe made on their Evo.

Madalion Touring

Outside Car - No Load

Inside Car - No Load

Driving Car - Under Load

Listen to this and imagine a deeper tone with this sound. If you stand right behind the exhaust, you can almost feel the deep tone pounding inside you wave after wave, sort of like the bass in a club (but not that strong). Windows up you can barely hear the exhaust under normal driving. Windows down and you can hear the exhaust just a bit but not over powering. There arent any resonance on the highway at any gear.

I dont know what the Super Hyper Medalion sounds like, but I'd go with the Touring because the tip is double wall and looks very nice in my opinion.

Thanks for all the info. I'll probably just go with the Medalion Touring since I haven't been able to see pics of the SHM installed or heard any sound clips.

The Medalion Touring is a great exhaust..it has a very racy, yet grown-up exhaust note. It flies under the radar (knock wood) in exhaust-unfriendly states as well and its included legal statements have gotten me out of an exhaust ticket.

I'd highly recommend it, even though there are days that I'd like to have my obnoziously loud TurboXS exhaust back.

I'm bringing this thread back from the dead.... right now I'm torn between the Medallion and the Hyper. Does anybody have any feedback on the hyper? I have already found plenty of info for the Medallion. Just not sure which one to get.
