Rough night need to vent

So lets just say this hasn't been too good of a night for me. At about 4 this afternoon I get a package from the UPS man. Its my xs engineering LICP that I got for free . So I'm pretty excited about this and drive over to my friends house to try and get this thing on because my dumbass brother is using my garage.

So I start by taking the undertray off the car which sucked as it is, and then I proceed to try and figure out how to get the stock pipes off. Lets just say the bolts that held the pipe in place were a total ***** to get to. Keeping in mind that my dumbass didnt take the front bumper off. So I finally get those two bolts off and start to get rolling again. Now here's the part that sux the most. This LICP actually bolts right up to the turbo outlet. I could easily get the bolt towards the front of the car off but damn was the other one a different story. I just couldnt get to it from the bottom. So I try the top. Take my maf pipe off and everything and try to get to it from the top. Still couldnt get to it So after about two hours of trying to get the stock crap off I just gave up. So I bolt all the stock pipes back up and tighten all the clamps tight as ****, and head home.

So go figure I'm on a road in the middle of nowhere when all of the sudden one of the clamps decides to blow off WTF!!!!! It's pitch black out where it blows off so I limp it to a street that has one street light on the corner. Crawl under the car and find that the hose that is right in front of the downpipe has come off. Luckily the clamp and all were still there. So i take my trusty ratchet that I carry everywhere with me and begin to tighten it when woooops I hit my finger on the Downpipe. So I finally get everything back on and baby my car another 5 miles home. Now my finger is blistered to hell. Sorry to ***** and complain but I had to vent a little bit.

dude take the bumper off next time. i cant see how u would change the licp without taking the bumper off.

whenver i do installs i take the maximum amount of **** off to make my job easy.

and u also gain alot more room to get at things at more appropriate angles.

10 minutes to take off the bumper would have saved you those 2 hours+ and a blistered thumb.

I'm confused about why you'd need to remove the MAF to get to the LICP.

Next time shoot me a PM and I can give you a hand if I'm in town and have the time.

He tried to get to the LICP from the top.......... . Sorry, I had to laugh. Yeah, you have to remove the front bumper to remove the LICP. When you do it right, make sure you add t-bolt clamps. Blowing a pipe sucks.

No I was trying to get to the 12mm bolt that is bolted into the outlet pipe since my LICP bolts right up to the outlet on the turbo.

Man, that sucks bro., I'm sorry to hear that.

Are You Charlie's friend ?
If so - I'm Jamie, the one who sent it to you.
If not - sorry - wrong guy.

You have to take bumper off..
And be careful around the starter, one slip and it will fry the solenoid,
or at the least shoot sparks all over and scare the bejeesus out of you..

Best thing is just to take starter off like Wicked says.

Good Luck

Yeah you don't NEED to take it off but it would have made it alot easier to get the 2 bolts off that hold the stock pipes in place.

No Problem Bro,
It was just sitting in my garage taking up space.

I had to buy the whole "Race Max" kit to get the XS Eng. UICP, to use with my HKS RS intake,
Just cuz it goes over the intake and not under it, and i like how it fits better than under the intake... it's weird I know lol.....

I went with the Nisei LICP, so I didn't need it.

I'm Glad to give it to someone who can use it.
Save your $ it was only 7$ to ship it, so dont worry about it.
Have fun and let us know when you get it on..

Later, Jamie

I suggest you get T-Bolt clamps if you dont want that LICP blowing off every couple of days... If your like me and like to boost a lot I would highly recommend it!! I have has that thing blow off like 6 times in the last 2 weeks! I finally got the Samco coupler and T-bolt clamps that go from the intercooler to the LICP... Just giving you a heads up
