Who has taken off their wing and had it warrantied?

Well it looks like the day has finally come where the clearcoat on my wing is starting to fade and getting a dull look. It's not major just yet but it is starting to form. Funny thing is that I've had the car for a year and a half and it only has 20,000 miles on it. The car is garage kept and rarely sits in the sun. When I go to work it usually sits in a parking garage. I have also waxed that wing probably a dozen times since I have had the car.....It goes to show how cheap and little clearcoat mitsu puts on their cars.

Anyways I have taken off the wing before and went wingless for about a month before I decided that I didn't like it. Should mitsu still cover this?

Same Question here. My clearcoat is coming off and it's peeling big time.

I had mine replaced about a year and a half ago. Alot depends on the dealer though.

It depends on the dealer....but make sure it is an 8 wing not a 9 wing....I specifically told them that I would not accept a 9 wing.

I contacted a dealer close to me, and the Service Dept. (cause that's who they sent me to), said that their service rep is out right now, and won't be back for a couple of weeks. At that time, they would call me in regards to this. Sounds a bit like bolony to me.

I may try a couple of other dealers to see what they have to say.

I bought my car used... and tried to get it warrantied. The dealer said no. So I called Corporate. Corporate said no. SO I called Corporate again 2 weeks later & then they approved it? They said since i called back a second time they would do it out of 'good will & a one time deal only'. Now I have a new wing & it looks fantastic!

I took my car to the dealer and the gave me a hard time. I ended up buying clear coat, sand paper and some other things and fixed it myself. I came out real good. Its easy to do too.

That's a bunch of BS. Why would you not wax the wing? So it fades even sooner? If you don't wax the wing why wax the rest of the car?

I think probably because the 8 wing is full CF and the 9 is not.
