BR Deluxe IC, old vs new style...need help...

Hey guys, I got an older style deluxe intercooler core from someone and it didn't come with the piping which is fine since they list it on the BR page so I ordered it and received it quickly, great (Nick rocks btw, just wanted you all to know that, he's been more than helpful)...however I noticed a post on the evo m board that a user posted a picture of a deluxe core he received showing the core with the inlet to be just off the end tank...my deluxe core has a 90 degree bend attached to the end tank so I called Buschur and they told me it's the older style and they can convert it for a charge by sending it in and getting it back. Well that doesn't work because by the time I do all that I could have just ordered it new and not saved any money. Question is...who has the older style (with the 90 degree bend attached to the IC) and what piping did you use? Custom? Does the stock work? Any pics? My car is a DD so once I pull it down and start removing stuff I can't slap it back together so I need to know if I need couplers, what shape, need a new pipe welded from scratch to make it work...etc etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

That intercooler is supposed to come with a custom LICP. Look at these pics:

Something missing...

like a coupler? What is used to hook the J pipe to the 90 degree bend in the kit that used to come from BR?

pipe

Have you tried pming Dave and asking if he has one of these lying around somewhere? Dave is pretty good about answering pms. If not, any good muffler shop can make you a custom pipe that will work. I just got my buschur race core, so it may take some modification to make it work on my IX as well.

Update on pipe -

For any who are having the issue described in my first post, here's what happened - I got the new style lower IC pipe with the old style deluxe Buschur IC. The good, they line up pretty close, I only used the main lower pipe, not the 90 bend they give you, if you find yourself in this position you can order the lower and it will work...however the bad...order t bolt clamps as it isn't exact and it's blown off once with a single worm clamp on there. Now I have two on either side waiting for my t bolt clamps to come in. It worked out and I'm happy tho The reason I did this is that by the time I ordered the IC and the lower, then had it shipped back to Buschur for the necessary modification to use their new lower it would have cost just as much as not buying a used older style deluxe. Also this is a couple less points of failure, 2 less clamps to use.
