Ya well I've been on other forums where stuff like this has been shot around. I doubt some mechanic knows when the next Evo is coming out, why would they even tell him. Best way to find out is get a friend on the inside of the company who'll leak specs and photos.

This "Evolution 9" stuff is without backing......I also don't believe it'll be 350hp. Thats WAYYYYYYY too much hp, everyone says 300hp on the STI is perfect. 350hp you'd have to have serious tires and lsds and serious **** to take that beating. And a 350hp car would make the $29,000 MSRP jump to like 35,000, especially when they'd need to back up the power with all sorts of other things to make it usesable.

I expect the Evolution 9 in mid-2005, with 300hp to match the WRX STI. There will not be that AYD or whatever crap. They're will be a adjustable LSD. The engine mayyyyyyy be a 2.4L since the new Lancer has one, however Mitsubishi might just keep the 2.0L 4g63T becaust the engine is such a good thing to build off of. The price will probably an extra 2K.

Seriously though the 2.4L is bound to happen, but I doubt next year already.

Sweeeeet. I want a Galant soooo bad but don't even want to think about it until we can get a "better than accord" engine to go with the "better than accord" body style it already has. Look forward to getting more of that V-6 news SPECIALIST.

 

Has anyone heard if an FQ300 version will be made for the states? I think its already for sale in europe.

And just what exactly is this 3.8L DOHC motor going to go in? The Galant motor has already been determined to be a 3.8L SOHC motor producing 230hp and 250lb/ft of torque. Its the same one in the Endeavor right now. It will likely show up in the 2005 Eclipse with little changes (along with the 4G69 2.4L Mivec SOHC I4). The super concept Pajero on the main site shows "V8" badges and they were supposed to use it in the latest Paris-Dakar rally, but I don't have any further info on its details. I'd rather see a V8 for the Montero rather then a DOHC 6.

A 2.4L Evo motor this soon as in next year? Hmmm...
