Found out today that a 2.4Dohc will be coming in the next Evo. and it will be in Jan. coming up 350Hp.What you think of that!

I dont believe it until they announce it officially . hate first year production engine , and thats the reason why i am from WRX to Evolution 8 and not the US Spec STI , if they really come out 2.4 litre i will have to say good bye to Evo 9 .

 

Please list website or where you got this info. I will trade my 2003 Evo in on a 2004 if this is true.

I doubt that mitsubishi would unveil a brand new engine THIS soon in the US Evolution line. Yes a 2.4 engine is available from japan....but as I said I doubt that it will be available next year.

 

Well subaru tiped there hand,I think in order to have a Evo.9 there has to be serious hardware changes and the 2.4DOHC MIVEC motor is one of them.

 

well i like my evo 8, thats all i know. and i dont want it to be like the "Lancer oz to evo" type thing again that it would be "evo 8 to evo 9" and EVERYONE is gona trade in again? i think not.

 

From what I hear its on the way,just like there will be a 3.8DOHC V6 260HP@276foot pounds of torque

1) There is nothing to SHOW or SHINE here.

2) While a 2.4L engine is plausible since the next gen US Lancer is a 2.4L

3) 2004, YA RIGHT....don't expect the Evo 9 to be out till mid-2005 probably same month that the Evo 8 came out

4) If you're going to spread gossip at least show me pictures.
