Hi everyone
Can I increase the boost to 22 or 23 psi with stock fuel pump on an Evo 9?
Other mod. Intake, exhaust, ported manifold

In a word, yes. Just keep in mind that you will yield better results after the tune.

Yes you will be fine. Look into getting a 255 walbro though, for insurance.

It's not a necessity to get a 255 since he already has the IX FP.

since your planning on doing those mods, might as well get the pump so you can increase boost to 25 if you wanted. but at 22 your fine dude, not necesary.

You dont need the pump on a IX for 22-23psi... Sure you could get it for insurance but it is not needed unless you're pumping up the boost 25+psi. On 8s you do on 9s you dont.

For less than $100 and an easy installation, it's worth it to change the fuel pump before reflashing. It's a few bolts, quick disconnect fuel lines, and clips to install it. Compare that to the headaches it is in DSMs (hard lines that usually break) or MKIII Supras (have to drop the fuel tank), and it becomes an easy choice.

I ran my car for a while at 23 psi before getting a walbro fuel pump.Like everyone says you'll be fine with the stock one but better safe than sorry.
