Injen intake + intercooler pipes

so i just bought this off lancershop:
http://www.lancershop.com/customer/p...42&cat=0&page=
anyone have experience with this? 22 hp off an intake and IC piping, i dunno kinda sketchy. One more thing, i've heard of Intakes causing power loss, instead of gain, would a tune be required with these bolt ons? I've got a completely stock Evo 9 MR at the moment, would this be an ideal initial purchase or did i make a bad choice. Sorry for all the questions, just looking for some expert advice.

You made a terrible first choice. Return it and get yourself a 3 inch turboback.

No, it's not a bad choice. In combination with a turbo back exhaust, you will make some decent power.

hmm, would you guys recommend a turboback. I'm leaning towards the Tanabe Concept G Blue, but the AMS looks appealing as well.

Yeah, get a turbo-back next. I personally bought the ebay and it looks like great piece of work. Especially for $260 shipped for 3" downpipe, test pipe & cat-back.

I'm running the intake plus the ic pipes. I love em. you do need a flash though. I do have to say there are other better first mods ex mbc, fp, tbe and a dro in. The ic pipes will help with spool up and the turbo sounds great too.

dude who cares what people think as long as you are smart enough to get a flash after the intake then you are fine!....and also i have the injen intake+ICP it works good for me no complaint.

Good mod. First mod, no. Even with this mod, your going to be limited with power gains cause of the restrictive exhaust. Open the exhaust up alil and you'll be good. Remember though, it's all in the tuning.

I have a firm no "ebay brand" parts policy but to each there own. Also I had some minor fitment problems with the Injen LICP but that was on my '05 VIII. After it blew off on my 2nd lap of the Nurburgring I swapped back to the stock LICP.

I use it. Your actually lucky, because when I bought it about a year ago, the Injen package only included the intake and the upper intercooler pipe. I had to buy the lower piping separetly from AMS. Now you get all three for basicly the same price I paid. .......Buy it!!! But you'll need a flash because of the intake.
