2,000 to spend, but on what?

Hey yal. i have some money and I am looking to drop it in my newly acquired 03 evo. I already have:
a Greddy cat back
a HKS blowoff valve
not much I know. I have just alittle over 2000, and am wanting to put some more power in to my new ride.

The upgrade paths shops offer usually net the best gains and keeps your modifications uniform.

Don't forget decal and stickers to parts you don't have or came stock from the factory!! it adds way more HP than anything, and its super JDM!!

but really, get a mbc, a dp, test pipe, and a tune, then if you want to do exterior mods do that, otherwise you could do o2 housing, intercooler piping, brake lines and rotors and pads and fluids.
.... just some thoughts.

or you can get a dp and test pipe and a evogreen turbo and a tune

Clutch, you'll need it before to long anyway.

Two broad options: go with a single shop like Buschur, AMS, or Vishnu. They will save you the work of piecing together mods. On a budget though, I advise some research and putting the package together from different vendors. The low-hanging fruit for the Evo is:

- Turbo back exhaust, with any of:
- stock cat (least power, only legal option)
- no cat aka test pipe (illegal, most power, usually requires swapping out for inspection unless you have a "friendly" inspector)
- high flow cat (still illegal but will usually fool an inspector)
- Boost controller (manual recommended for budget)
- Panel intake filter (replaces OEM drop-in, non-oiled filter usually recommended)
- Boost gauge
- Custom tune

That will set you back anywhere from under $1000 to close to $2000 depending on brands and who tunes you. As far as which brands to get, that you will have to do your own searching and research for. You can see from my sig which brands I used, and I am satisfied with them all.

The people suggesting driving lessons have the right idea too, but that is a different direction to go.

As for clutch, yeah you will eventually roast it, but my advice is to wait until you do then upgrade it. Be sure you keep drivability in mind. There are clutches that are good for DD and ones that aren't.
