I let the stealership do my timingbelt, and balencer belt not bad only paid 630. They advised about the tensioner but when they pulled the cover they said it was brand new. but i asked the guy to look it up and yup it was changed last year by the pervious owner why he didnt fo the the rest ?? I didnt have the waterpump done everything i saw was 120k and they said it wasnt leaking or showing signs of failing. I ordered oem fluids from mitsubishiparts.net and saved a ton doing my drivetrain fluids my self, also planning to swap my plugs and wires soon and fix this pesky accessory belt idler pulley making noise. Point being like with the rest of this post see if you can do most of the work your self and save money, mitsubishiparts.net is awsome place to get oem parts

So I'm currently at almost 52k on my car and am looking into doing the 60k service early.

I called the dealership up and asked for a estimate for 60k service and this is what they gave me:

Timing Belt
Parts: $85.42, Labor: $300

Spark Plugs
Parts: $25.85, Labor: $60

AWD Service: $209.85

Coolant: $79.95

Transmission Drain and Fill: $69.95

Balance Belt: $40.83

I believe the typical labor rate in my area is about $80/hr.

They seriously want $60 labor to replace spark plugs?!

$79.95 FOR COOLANT?!

AWD service for $210?? What all does that include?? $79.95 should be for a coolant flush, not just for a drain & refill...but you should ask them...We charge right around that same price for a coolant flush at my work (AAA Car Care)...

you're nuts if you don't replace your spark plugs yourself.

Coolent, trans flush & plugs can all be easily done. That is if you like to work on your car yourself.

Yes I am doing everything myself besides the timing belt, balance belt, and water pump.

Just wanted to get an idea of what the stealership was going to ask and post it up.

I don't know where you are in IL, but AMS in west Chicago would be competitive pricewise I'd guess around $1300 for a complete 60K. But you would for sure know they knew what the hell they are doing ; ).

Actually....$2400 is what I got quoted from Max Madsen Mitsubishi.

I called 3 different dealerships in the North Suburbs of chicago... range: $1385 - $1695

I actually just got my car done at Touge Factory. I paid couple hundred less then the dealership.
I originally was going to do it myself, but I decided to pay professionals to do it right.
It was Cheaper and why not... they use OEM mitsu parts... and I don't trust my car at the dealerships anyways.

Here's what they replaced. My idler pulley was in baaaaad shape.

-Water Pump
-Balance Belt Tensioner
-Balance Belt
-Timing Belt
-Timing Belt Tensioner
-Timing Belt Tensioner Pulley
-Timing Belt Idler Pulley
-Accessory Serpintine belt
-Valve Cover gasket - mine was leaking (optional)
-Full Drivetrain flush with AMSOIL fluids (optional)
-Milspec throttle body gasket kit (optional)
-AMS shifter bushing (optional)

I actually just left a review on the Vendor Review section.

super happy with the service!

I did mine a couple months ago. Changed all the fluids save for the brake fluid for $580 (all motul). And the gates timing belt kit was 490 and 360 labor at the dealership. Grand total was 1430. The only things I didn't do was the serpentine belt and spark plugs.

All prices in CDN btw.
