Evo Rs
well the reason i want the RS is because of the somewhat sleeper status it has.I was looking at used ones but they run anywhere from 20-25k with some mods.I want a stock car with no mods.I want to do mods my way.what im looking to do with it is have triple purpose car drag, road and street.a 12 sec drag car,a decent running road course car and a reliable street car.i think ill get this one.
so im looking to getting an evo rs.yea i know rs model sucks but i like the sleeper amongst other things.I went to the dealer where my buddy works and he spoke to the sales manager and told him i wanted one of the rs models that they've been sitting on since september 06.He asked for 25k for it.I like the car since its white which is the color i want.my buddy told to come back in december and i could probably get it for 20K.do you guys think its a good deal?
Boy, it seems awfully easy to get a bunch of RS owners riled up.
The RS is the quickest, most raw EVO out of the box. I don't know why people are saying that the MR performs better. It has Bilsteins, an arguably weaker six speed and extra weight.
If you don't mind missing out on power windows and locks, go for the EVO RS.
The car is also a real sleeper. I read all the time about people being harassed at stoplights by ricers, mustangs, idiots, etc. I've had mine over a year, and I've never gotten any unwanted attention from red-light racers or police.
My last suggestion would be to go with the white. People don't really talk about it, but the white paint has a great contrast to the "RS only" black mirrors and door handles. Good luck, and $25k is a great deal.

Personally I think the evo is just a great car in general no matter what model you get.Its all about personal preference. You get what you want and not what others are trying to tell you to get.I got the MR because I wanted the 6 speed.Good luck!
I thought it was odd to not have p/w, d/l, or a stereo.................. but A/C
Maybe it was to keep the drivers cool when wearing a helmet and protective clothing.............
Oh well at least i won't roast in the staging lanes

I caught another thread of his where he spoke of this particular RS and three others at the same dealership - four new RSs! If there was only one, I could see him witholding the dealer's name and/or location. Not that it'd be that hard to locate the car anyways. We know the region. This dealer is obviously having a hard time moving these cars. All that needs to be done is to call any dealer in the region and ask them to locate them for ya. Dealers have access to their counterparts's inventories. This sounds like a perfect case for a dealer trade. Good luck to all who want a brand spakin new IX RS. I'd rather see people who really want an RS to get 'em, rather than this guy who thinks they suck. Sounds like he's compromising.

I recently bought the IX RS before I deployed and have been saving money from my deployment to get some work done once I return from Iraq. I got the RS because I read nothing but good things about it and really didn't care for all the extra stuff that came with the other models. I love my RS and wouldn't trade it for anything. Great car and can't wait get home to mod it out get some more ponies and take my son and wife for a drive.
my RS have ac.
the RS is the fastest out of box ,period.
Thing is, the dealers gotto justify, almost $10k difference.
Marketing...
The RS is a great track car. The MR is a good overal car. For performance or tuning ,RS hands down.
Everyday driving + track = MR.

open and close the door on a GSR or MR and then on an RS...The doors alone are way lighter it is very apparent..no speakers, locks, windows, switchgear
more interior leg room since door panels are cut out for roll ups and no armrest pad in the way getting worn out from your elbow
No firewall mat insulation on RS = 20lbs alone
No fugly useless rear wiper...My low key OE black winged RS looks great w/vortex and handles/mirrors match
Having a fully optioned Evo is like putting a bow on a pigs head.....face it - Interior wise pre-'08 evos are all cheapo jap cars....why drop 6-8k more for map lights and leather headrests when rest of interior is the lame same
