I agree with u regarding the carbontrix one, however the authority one i really enjoy. More people seem to like heat shields(of thier choice) over no heat shield IMO, but to each his own

I have the HKS hipower and it sits alittle further out than that. I have the DC sport cat delete dp. Was the inlet of the catback 3in or a little smaller. It's supposed to be a little smaller, if it's 3 in all the way, maybe someone cut that small section of the smaller pipe out, and put a 3 in flange on it. thus the catback being short.

could it be a JDM version HKS exhaust. The JDM rear is shorter than our USM rear so it makes sense the JDM exhaust would be shorter. Maybe the person you got your exhaust from bought a JDM version exhaust and it s just a little shorter. I could be wrong but I need more posts so I can sell my coilovers, but anyways hopes this helps.

dood... relax they all pretty much fit like that. Im running the HKS hipower as well. Looks the same to me. I did however, buy the stainless shield from (i think lancershop.com) or somewhere on here, can't remember its been a while. But it just lines the inside w/ stainless steel. very subtle and more importantly it works. My bumper is clean and burn free. You can see burn marks on the stainless though, so its doing the job just fine. The carbon shields are too bulky for my taste.

All that I can think is that the test pipe might not be the correct link, I am putting an apexi downpipe and megan testpipe on tommorrow so I'll post some before and after shots
and look what I found was making the noise the resonator was rubbing on the driveshaft

looks to me all you have to do is adjust the rubber exhaust hangers a little bit for it to sit perfect.

My HKS exhaust looks identical to the OP's. My bumper is burnt slightly on the upper left inside, where the tip is closest to the bumper. Most likely occurs when driving on rough roads and causes the exhaust to have a lot of movement. It's not really a big deal. No one can see it.
