Who feels they abuse their EVO?

This is a simple question to people who would like to state their opinion in this matter. Sometimes when I drive my EVO to get my adrenaline rush out of my system, I feel like I have abused my EVO by winding it up to much. What I mean is from 1st gear all the way to 4th gear, I take it to redline(right at 7k) each time on every gear. Do any of you guys ever feel this way about your EVO's sometimes? I do know that like an Integra Type R, our EVO's like being up in the higher rev range but sometimes I just can't help to feel this way. I have 1900 mi on the odometer and my car is pampered everytime is driven but when ever I feel the adrenaline rush running through me, I drive my car to its full potential. Just want to know what your thoughts are.

as long as you are not over-revving and doing repetitive clutch dumps then it's not abuse, but simply stretching its legs.

Any performance car is made to make those kinds of runs. In fact, they are designed to handle abuse like that in hot weather with the A/C on. It's not abuse - in fact, if you baby the car too much, the engineering works against the car by not fulling seating the valves, by letting seals and gaskets deteriorate, etc. Don't dump the clutch, don't powershift, and don't try to do burnouts at every light and you should be fine.

We are all just like animal rights activists who just want to let
the wild animal out of it's cage.

Thanks for the great reply guys. I just need to stop pampering the car too much like you guys say. The wolf can't be in sheeps clothing at all times.

I don't go to redline on cheap *** CA pump gas... I can feel the ECU start to retard timing at 6k already.

I wish CA wasn't such a stupid state with a bunch of tree huggin idiots and a governor who put us in bankcruptcy.

Don't ABUSE it. Ever!
Don't MISUSE it Ever!

USE IT! Useing the Evo to it's full potential is what is engineered for and designed for.

Now go take some performance driving school lessons and learn how to *use* your car!
