It's better to be safe than sorry. Put the old exhaust back on.

MMNA told me directly the presence of an aftermarket clutch will not void the warranty as long as its LKQ (like kind and quality). ie no twin plates or paddle clutches etc. They also said a cat-back & a drop in filter was OK as well.
That being said I wouldn't go into a dealer for any kind of work with any obvious power mods.

I don't see any problem of them doing the tranny under warranty. However, a lot of dealers would note down in their system what mods you have everytime you come to their shop. Say for example you had a cold air intake, then you hydrolock the engine, you put stock box back on and tow your car to the dealer. The shop will notice that you had a CAI in the past, and would not cover your car under warranty.

Should have looked me up, I would have helped to return from stock. I have to say if you have time, id pull the TBE off. the new mitsu dealer owners are different then the previous, and they are much more stringent their techs told me today.

I think the bottom line here is, Mitsu obviously doesn't pay the dealers very well for warranty service, and the dealers look for excuses to not have to do the work.
There is no way they can void your warranty for the transmission because you have an exhaust, that **** is rediculous. I've had RX8's come in with anything and everything done to them and still honored the warranty. There is something crazy going on with these dealers, has anybody sued yet?

The thing that makes your shifter return to center is just a spring inside the cockpit of the evo. I think lancershop has the step by step to install a short shifter into your car. Just follow that and get into your center column and locate the spring see if it slipped out of alighnment or broke. It is probably only a $3.00 part from the dealer. Your tranny has nothing to do with how the shifter lays in the cabin.

I took it all apart, re-lubed everything. Everything in the shifter was in PERFECT condition to the 'T'. This is a weird situation.

Did you ever figure out what the problem is??? Because mine is doing the exact same thing. I've been just dealing with it for about a year now and am finally wanting to fix it. I installed a short shifter wanting it to hopefully help with the problem, but it still did the same thing. you think the shift linkage cables might be out of wack somehow??? If you ever figured out the problem please let me know!!!
