Exclamation Removal of Front Bumper on an ***IX***

Ok people.... searched the forums in and out, and can't find how to remove the front bumper on an IX. I've removed everything I can find on a removal guide for a VIII (http://forums.*******.com/showthread.php?t=5113), but something is still holding on in the middle inner portion. I think I found 2 phillips-head screws, but theres no way you can get to them....

Any help would be much appreciated. Link me, do a quick write-up... anything!

you popped out those little covers on the front of the bumper? I took mine off with basic tools so I'm not sure which ones you're talking about.

Right ------ almost.... but whats the difference?

Sorry to say - but I hate it when people say "search harder" when they know what I'm looking for. I'm not lazy, I'm just new to the boards.

Once again... help would be appreciated. The car is sitting in the garage with the bumper almost off... *sigh*

there's one on each side behind those clips in the front, stick a socket in there and you can reach them...

if you have the 2 screws out of the wheelwells, the two from the top, and the two behind the clip in painted pieces in the front then you should be set. After i had all these out and all the clips i just wiggled and it kind of popped off. Its real easy once you do it for the first time.

excellent ... I figured that would come up. I'm heading back out to check the area out behind the clips.

I was asking originally, because there are 2 screws right in front of the IC, and right behind the inner area on the bumper that are inaccessible, yet it looks like they're holding the bumper to the crash guard. YIKES!

BRB.....

i absolutly stand it when people act negative on forums...like if you post something and people just leave negative feedback...why would someone take the time to leave a post thats negative...what does that accomplish

Once you do it once, it becomes much easier and faster. Trust me!! My bumper is off sitting in my garage.

Got it! Thanks for the support all.

My issue was the small circular pads that you pop OUT of the front bumper with the bolts behind them. Nobody posted pics of this. I will when complete... I bought the wrong damned headlights (9007 instead of 9006) Yargh!
