Looking at 04 SSL Silver With 25k

What should I be paying the dealer has it at 26k. I think its too much. Considering when I bought my 04 new it was 30k with ssl. Only 3 grand in depresiation.? When I sold my 04 the dealer only wanted to give me 19K. That was last year and car only had 16,000 miles. What should I offer. Car is real clean one owner older guy always garage it traded cause he was having another baby..

Thank you Mike

I wouldnt give em more than $24k, you should be able to find an '05 for around $25-26k and the '05s have ACD, front LSD and the bigger exhaust housing on the turbo...

ok cool I was thinking try to low ball at 23k and shoot for under 25K but you are right for that I could find a 05 for 25K so I will shoot for 24K. I'm not in dier need either I'm driving a 07 VW GTI I would be trading so If they say no I can just walk away and wait for a better deal.

MOst dealeships have a 5k mark up on their price on used cars. They definatly could sell it for 23k out the door. I they are trying to sell it for 26k they got it for 20-21k.

Realy the mark up is that bad. They have at 27K so I could offer 22K and my trade. That would work.

Look you traded ur 04 evo for 19k. I guarantee you if u went by the dealership a week later they would have it for 24k. You just have to play hard ball with them.

Your probally right but I did not trade it for 19k. I sold it for 22K a freind of mine he had a small used car dealer and had a kid in Florida that wanted to buy it so I sold it to him and he sold it for 24.5K to the kid in Florida.

No 04 is worth near that much. An 05 MR would be lucky to sell for 25k when new IXs were selling for so cheap.

I know I just saw some 05 MR's for under 25k with same mileage or a little more 33k or so. So I'm thinking more towards 20k-21k. I have seen numorus 03's with 30k of on them for 21K an 04 wiht the same mileage should be about the same.. I will go to the dealer tommorrow after work. Maybe a can squezze some more out of my trade and have them come down on the price ALOT.. I only looking to spend 22K at the most with my trade. 27K is nuts..

I second that. My friend just picked up a IX SE with 15k miles for $27,000...

Heck, I only paid $28,000 for my VIII NEW!

You should be shooting for $22k at the most...plus the story about the older guy having a kid and selling the car after he never took it over 5000 rpm blah blah blah seems contrived.

I know you've worked at a dealership and know what they're capable of...start checking for signs of modding and bust them down. I'd start by offering $21k.

I definitly will be looking hard for any mods and the story of the car never been driving is BS they were driving.. Thats what they were made for. Him selling cause of family makes sense I sold mine to save to get married. The most I'm going is
22K and no more, Like I said if not I can walk I'm in no hurry to get one, plus driving the GTI is nice Just not an EVO nice.. LOL

It does depend on the part of the country you're in, but 21ish sounds like a place I'd take my stand at...

the price is always subjective... if somebody will buy it for that much, then its worth that much./at least for somebody /

I sell cars, and usually internet pricing is in the $1500-$2500 profit range.

$5000 markup would make me seriously rich.
