About to get my warranty voided

Well fellas,
After two years of ownership I'm finally bringing the Evo in for a warranty claim (wing and caliper). Something tells me the district manager is going to put a big red "X" on my drivetrain (hell, maybe even bumper to bumper too) warranty. I at least hope they'll do the honorable thing and accept the claim on my fading wing and brakes which have nothing to do with my engine mods. Wish me luck!!

Right...

they can't void your whole warranty for that. They have to prove (not you) that whatever you did directly contributed to the failure at hand.

In my case the person before me removed the transmission and to the transmission bolted the main engine wiring harness. They however didn't rebolt down the harness so as it swayed bent and eventually caused a short in the harness to the battery...so they voided that part of my warranty however since I had it replaced at the dealership they restored my warranty on those parts. At the same time they replaced my front calipers and wing and did that part free of charge.

Don't let them screw you

Woot! New wing and 2 new calipers on the way! With all the horror stories I've read about Mitsu's seemingly arbitrary warranty denials I was a bit apprehensive, but the whole process took less than a half hour. It's good to keep an open mind.

Congratulations. I will still put my car back to stock if I have to take my car into the dealership for any warranty work.

Evolution MR IX, i think you're stuck with your spoiler. it wasn't a Mitsu defect that caused your damage/warranty claim.
