idle question

I just picked up an 05 Evo with 13k on it. All thats done to it is a turbo back exhaust. It runs smooth and everything but it idles very choppy. Almost as if it has a cam in it. Is this normal? If not what could it be? Thanks in advance.

its normal if it has cams. a good tuner can smooth it out for you. no need for ems. for me though, i love that idle.....

I love the sound too but im pretty sure the car doesnt have cams. Its not a constant thing. It'll be normal for a while and then get all lopey.

My old HKS 264s would do that on occasion. For the most part it would idle smoothly, but every now and then it would begin to lope for a few seconds then idle smoothly again.

Yes the car might have cams. I would personally check. Also, you could just get the car tuned and everything would be set.

yes at least get some readings. do you have a a/f ratio gauge?? a good tune should set your world straight. plus you might get some more power with a tune as well you never know...
