The underbody coating on our cars is a product called Tectyl 506T, Tectyl 506, Tectyl S or Waxoyl. (Mitsubishi Body Repair Manual p. 4-7) The product will never cure and become hard. This crap is insidious and I took to removing it from my wheel wells so I don't get covered in it whilst I'm working on my car. I will finish the underbody when I do my Vishnu turbo-back exhaust. I has not made any difference in road noise and I don’t care about it anticorrosion properties as I live in dry climate.

mine actually just wipes off since the dealership hooked me up with an extra coating on the car plus they give you a cleaning kit that actually does a good job on making your car nice and shiny.and my evos white, but the only problem i get is dirt by the spoiler and back bumper from morning mists then when i go to work all the dirt goes to the back.but its all good though its an evo cant complain much about the car except for cramped up cheeks because of grinning the whole day.

What's the best method of removing this nasty coating crap? high pressure sprayer? Is there any chemical spray that will take it off?

Acrysol is safe for paint and not safe for the undercoating.

From: its not where you at, its where you from!
Try living in the desert where the temperature is 105+ in the summer. That **** drips all over my garage and driveway when I am cleaning the car. It's there for a reason and aparently it can be removed. I thought it was diff. fluid at first, but realized it was too thick and dark to be any type of auto fluid...just a minor pain to deal with IMHO!!
