Call Jon at TRE (if you can get hime on the phone). Awesome guy, and he will give you detailed reasons as to why a twin plate clutch is a bad choice for anything other than a dedicated race car.

From what I have deduced from his conversations, it is extremely difficult to get the clutch plates aligned such that they completely disengage between shifts. If you have issues getting into first gear at a stop, then you know that is probobly the problem, and will lead to increased synchro wear.

nope i have an exedy twin disk and its ok im going to go back to tilton now that im over 700hp but i dunno i have never had a problem with the twin disks. I installed mine myself and it wasnt tough at all to get the plates to align. i have had a twin disk in the car since the day i owned it and at one point it wasnt a dedicated race car only making 470hp and drove it everyday with the clutch and had 0 problems.

I have a Twin Disc Exedy Clutch with 497awhp... I also agree with you that sometimes My car seems to stick when I am redlining it in 2nd and shifting into third gear... But only like 1 out of every 5 times... I am not sure exactly why though. Just how it is as of right now.

I talked to ther guys at TTP, they said that the exedys tend to get a little weird at about 3-4k miles on them and that they need a nice through beating w/o lauches to get them in line and they should start working a little better.

Sounds a little bit crazy to me to shift my car hard from gear to gear when it is being tempermantal about even going from gear to gear....

I am going to take it to the stealer ship to get it in the air to make sure that I have adjusted the clutch correctly....

Let me know if anyone has the solution to this....
