Project EVO RALLY CAR!
Project EVO RALLY CAR!
This is my first post after checking evolutionm for many years, i decided to become a member to help rallying in the USA. I started to build an Evo a year ago, with the help of Road Race Engineering, and Laeng Works. I been rallying in US since 1995 my first car was an Eclipse, and i won the California Rally Series in 1997. In 2004 by mistake I build a Subaru WRX and won the championship again. After selling the Subaru i bought 2 EVO 8's one for rallying and the other for daily driving. Jim Pierce in Torrance, Ca build the cage and welded the shell. Road Race built a 2.4 engine with 272 cams, balanced crank, and a stock turbo. Tom and Aaron Laeng are currently assembling the car at their shop in Hespiria, Ca. Most of the rally's in US are free Subaru commercials, i got sick and tired. To keep you up to date with the project enjoy the pictures.
BTW, the clutch is RRE 2900 lb with light flyweel, HKS camgears, 720 injectors, 2.75" downpipe & straightpipe all the way, RRE aluminum motor mounts, 11" front brakes to fit 15" gravel wheels, energy bushings all around, 2walboro 255 lph, 50 mm dms gravel coil overs with hats. ECU probably motec or autronic with anti-lag.
