CF doors are nice... but scary to DD with man. You'll lose a lot more weight, but I'd rather have something a little stronger barricading me on the inside, just my 2 cents.

no matter what they cost it might be the worst idea ever for a street car. i cant even imagine a side impact with carbon doors. you might as well run no doors at all. good luck to you and do yourself a favor, warn your passengers they are riding in a car without proper safety gear. have them sign a waiver so their family's cant sue you when you kill someone

I thought the aftermarket cf doors reduce weight mainly because of the following:

- No crash beam
- No panels and/or sound deadening
- You get lighter windows and/or mirrors

I think only type of CF doors available are CFRP, not dry.

The thing with CF doors is not just in the lack of rigidity.

CF cracks and splinters, and will chop the crap out of you when that happens. The standard steel doors will deform, and are much less likely to slice you up. Carbon will shatter into a billion pieces, slice you up, and embed itself in you.

Seriously, it is not worth it for a street car. I highly discourage you from doing it

if it was safe to run CF doors on the street...dont you think some car companies would be equipping the cars with them from the factory?

Plus four cf doors are like $7800, which would be better spent on go fast goodies imo.

seibon(or whatever) carbon doors are 3150 shipped to my door.

also i was thinking 10 point(at least) cage. and keep full interior

Why lose weight with the doors and just put it back with a cage unless you need the cage to run at the track?

Consider this as well. Not only with carbon fiber doors being not safe for side impact as a daily driving car, think about how much more your car is going to stick out to the car thieves as well. They see a nice Evolution with $3,000 doors on it, plus other mods is going to be a sore thumb sticking out to get stolen and stripped. Not only that but cops will give you a hard time more as well if they don't already.

If you're going to do carbon doors, I think it would be best to invest in a nascar style cage with door bars that extend into the door area where the windows used to live.

here's the link to one example:

Stay safe! Don't know when another deer might run at you =P
